喜爱富有的人，而嫌弃贫穷的人。指对人的好恶取舍以贫富为准。《元・施惠・幽闺记・第二十八出》：“你道如何？爱富嫌贫，岳丈倚强凌弱。”《孤本元明杂剧・大破蚩尤・第二折》：“方信道贫居闹市无人问，富在深山有远亲。如今人爱富嫌贫。”亦作“嫌贫爱富”。
